Heraldry: Sheffield City Council Arms

As I am preparing my arms for registration with the Empire of Adria, I decided to look up the arms of the actual Sheffield district in England. This is what I found:

The blazon is as follows:

ARMS: Per fesse Azure and Vert in chief eight Arrows interlaced saltirewise banded Argent and in base three Garbs fessewise Or.
CREST: On a Wreath of the Colours a Lion rampant Argent gorged with a Collar and holding between the paws an Antique Shield Azure charged with eight Arrows as in the Arms.
SUPPORTERS: On the dexter side a figure habited as Thor resting his exterior hand on a Hammer all proper and on the sinister side a figure habited as Vulcan standing in front of an Anvil and in the dexter hand a pair of Pincers all also proper.
MOTTO: "With God's help, work prospers."

My goodness. And my lord Skallabjorn was just saying to me that if he could have chosen the arms for our canton (which is called Sheffield, within the Kingdom of York, within the Empire of Adria), he would have a simple green field ("vert") with three bundles of golden wheat on it. This would represent what the word "Sheffield" means: "sheaf-field" or cornfield (what they call "corn" in England, we call "wheat" in the US). I don't know if he pictures it as it is shown here, or two above and one below (an arrangement I rather like) but isn't it interesting that the actual Sheffield city council arms has that right smack on it.
